Shapes made visible through a macro don't always get displayed

I have placed a number of shapes on a fairly complex Master slide with about
50 shape controlling macros.

Each is shown (hidden) using ...Visible = True ( ....Visible = False)

Most of them work fine using this method but now the last few additions only
show / hide in the following modes:

a) As long as presentation starts with the (errant) shapes visible
b) After exiting presentation screen mode into the normal edit screen mode

I have tried replacing them with very simple rectangles but to no avail.

Is there a single slide complexity limit that I might be hitting?

Otherwise any thoughts please...?

On scanning the Forum for possible solution I saw a comment (David M.
Marcovitz) that sometimes annimations interfere. I removed them and voi·là.
The only problem is I would have preferred to keep them.

Thanks for check the archive. That saved me the work of typing another
answer. I discovered this problem a few years ago, and I have not found a
suitable workaround to have animations and hiding and showing in VBA work
consistently.
