setup freeze

I'm reinstalling Win2k. The setup process freezes when it
gets to REGISTERING COMPONENTS under PERFORMING FINAL
TASKS.

And if I reboot, it ends up at the same place.

How did you do the reinstall? Was antivirus running? What else was on the
machine? Try Shift+F10 when you reboot and disabling non-essential services
via the command window.
