Setup could not get information about the disks on your computer.

I first attempted to boot straight from the DVD to install Vista but didn't
get past the "choose hard drive to install on" because I got this error:
"Setup could not get information about the disks on your computer". After
which there was no error or debug information, only this vague message with
no hints/tips on fixing it. It then proceeds to rollback the install.

The second attempt I tried to start the install from Windows XP SP2. I load
up the DVD and go into the install, it checks for updates, restarts install,
asks for the key, then asks which drive to install it on. I chose my
secondary hard drive (for specs see below). I then proceeded to load the
drivers for nforce (beta 2 drivers from nvidia) so it would recognize my
drives and my RAID 0. It then copies and extracts the files onto my
secondary drive, then reboots and continues with the install.

Upon reboot, it the resumes the install process, but the first thing it
tells me is "Setup could not get information about the disks on your
computer." I've loaded the drivers for my nforce board via the option while
I was in XP, but once I reboot it won't find ANY of my drives. It then
proceeds to roll back the install (uninstall) again.

I am just upset because there seems to be a lack of feedback on why I am
receiving this error. No error code, do debug information, no log (that I'm
aware of)... I have no information to base my diagnosis upon to research.

As of now it's preventing me from installing Vista and the "Setup could not
get..." message is the only message I get.

Notes:
There is no opportunity to F6 because this is before Vista ever installs.
