Setting User Picture

I am trying to use a picture from my pictures to show as the user picture in
the user account, but the image selected does not show completely in the user
picture container, it is cropped by the system. This only happens on some
jpg files and not on others. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Resize the image to 128x128 px dimensions, that's the max it supports.

Adding a custom picture to the list of user account pictures:

Thanks for the information. I tried this but still get pictures that are cut
off. The source photo that I am using is rectangular. I experimented with
several other photos that are rectangular and some that are more or less
square in their original dimensions. The photos that are more or less square
work (e.g. a photo that is 281 x 253 px) work and do not need to be resized
to fit in the container. The system appears to take care of resizing by
itself. However a picture that is 1728 x 2592 px or one that is 53 x 85 px
is displayed but is cropped by the system.

Is there a requirement that the original photo be "nearly" square for this
process to work correctly?

Hi Bob,

From what I see, the system seems to crop images if the height is more than the image Width (example: 1728 x 2592 px). Note that it resizes perfectly fine if the other way (Width is more, example 1440x900)
