Setting up Sharing on external USB drive

I just bought a Western Digital "My Book Premium Edition" external USB drive
as a replace my existing external USB drive. The new one is 750gb and the
old one was 250gb.

On my old drive, I had a share set up on both the root folder for the drive
plus a few subfolders as well and everything was working just fine. I was
able to connect to and navigate through those folders w/o difficulty. I've
set up the same shares on my new drive after having copied everything over
from my old drive. As far as I can tell, they have the exact same settings
as before. Further, they have the same settings as other shares that I
still have on my other internal drives that are also still working fine.

However, whenever I try to connect to the shares on my new drive, either
from another PC on my network or even on the same PC the usb drive is
connected to, I get the following error:

"\\machine\sharename is not accessible. You might not have permission to
use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find
out if you have access permissions.

Access is denied"

I've tried the solution suggested on the following URL

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;177078

but that didn't seem to work. I tried setting the stack size to values
between 15 and 50 at increments of 5 (20, 25, 30, etc). What's going on?
Why can't I access this share? All the others I have set up on the PC work
just fine. And they worked on my old USB drive. Though it's been a while
since I set up those shares on my old drive, I took the same steps and
defined the same settings on my new USB drive. Is there something extra I
need to do?

thnx,
Christoph

I am having the exact same problem with the 500gb "My Book Premium Edition",
have you found a solution yet?
