setting up account

I have tried to set up an account with a live.com email and can't seem to get
it working. I also have tried using my other email which is with
ymail.com(yahoo) and still cant get it right. does anyone know if ymail is
pop3 or imap and also what would be my smtp name.

US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP access.
Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay for premium "Mail Plus" service:

and use the special settings for that service:

You can set up a Hotmail POP (non-HTTP) account in Windows Mail
using these settings:

Windows Mail's new account wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail addresses.
So, when you enter your email address initially, give it a fake one,
such as (e-mail address removed). After the account setup is complete, go back
and correct your email address.
