setting the left/right balance

hi

i just installed vista and i cant find where to set the left/right volume
balance
i read in another forum that it was in sound>speaker properties>levels but
in mine there is only a mute button and no left/right volume bar
anybody able to help me?

Check with the maker of the installed sound card for updated Vista
compatible software/drivers.

i did that and ive got a balance bar now but it can only set the balance for
the cd volume and microphone.. any way that it can set the master volume
balance?

I think the options to do this depends on the sound card and the driver.

I have a Creative sound card and I can open Control Panel/Sound Applet,
click the Playback Tab and then click the Speakers Button. All of the
settings are there including the balance for the speakers.

Try looking for a speakers selection in the sound applet.
