setting slide show to auto

I hope I make sense. I created a slide show with photos and music. For the
life of me I can't get the slide show to advance to the next slide starting
from the beginning. Does the viewer have to click to advance to the next
slide? is there not a setting so it advances automatically? I've read posts
on here but I just can't find my answer. Thank you in advance.

You probably want to check this out:

Thanks for the link David but that isn't exactly what I was looking for. I
need to set the slide show to automatically advance to the next slide. When I
view the slide show, it starts out with the first slide and the music plays
but it will not move to the next slide.

Actually, I think that is what you want because that discusses how to get
the sound to play throughout a presentation. But maybe I'm jumping the gun
because that might be the next problem you have after you get the slides to
automatically advance. You simply need to set a slide transition to
automatically after a certain number of seconds. Exactly how you do that
will vary based on what version of PowerPoint you are using.

David is right: as your sound hasn't been animated to go on several slides,
the first slide stays until the sound is finished

I have office 2007, I went through the slide transition settings, I set the
slides 4 seconds apart. The music seems as if it will play through the whole
show but I just can't get the slides to move forward automatically.

I'm not sure what you are doing wrong. This really does work. I made a
sample video to show you how to do it:

If you follow what I did there, what you want to do should work fine.

Great. Sometimes a picture (or video) is worth a thousand words. I'm glad I
could be of assistance.
