setting printer margins

A.L.

I have a question about changing and setting my printer margins. When I
print anything off of the internet or otherwise in portrait orientation
the right side of the page is partially cut off. So I print using
landscape orientation to avoid losing part of my page. I am operating
with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. How can I change my print
margins so that when printing in portrait orientation part of the right
side of my page is not cut off? By the way, I am using Dell AIO 924
Printer to print.

Thanks,

A.L.

Alan, I believe that the link you provided at the end of your post is now
basically a dead link. When I attempted to download the add-in it kept
looping back to the same place. If I went to the programmer's blog it was
no help either. Google didn't have any access to the program's name either.
If you find a way, please post it.

No, it is not a dead link. You don't have to download anything.
The looping back after the control is installed is normal.

This is a response I made to someone who also had trouble following
what was going on:
--------------------------
IE Fixed-Width Printing:
http://www.visiontech.ltd.uk/software/index.html

It can be confusing first time but you now have it installed.

If you got that site, then you have done it correctly and have the
control installed as the previous page said.
If you don't see the new printer icon with the small
"W" as the previous page instructions said you should, then
right-click the toolbar, select Customize and add Fit-width Print to
the Current toolbar buttons.

It printed correctly using the Fit-Width Print button (which you have
to add in View-Toolbars-Customize) and it displayed correctly in a
preview by holding the CTRL key while clicking Fit-Width Print.

OK, I see what they are doing now. Normally when you "download" something
to a computer it will take you to a download page and then you click on the
word download. The way the site is written, can lead to some confusion.
This automatically installs the control without any further action but
doesn't specifically say that it will. It didn't show on IE when I closed
it and reopened so I had to manually add to the bar.

Yes, the wording is not good.
I had to add to the bar also (and I assume everyone has to) and that
is hardly clear from the site.

The upside is that it works well.

I have found that it does so far on one computer. My wife constantly prints
web pages and loses the right side. I'll see if I can train her to use the
proper print icon now.
