Setting in automatic updates grayed out

I've got the compnenet for WindowsUpdate Agent and Windows Update Agent for
SUS 1.0 installed, but the 3 time setting are all grayed out. Anyone know
why?

I found a reg key in windows update, something about disabling. I deleted
that key, and those option were fine. Any one know how that got disabled?

With in the component, I looked at the registery setting that it is
includeing, and changed the DisableWindowsUpdateAccess DWORD value
