Setting DNS Suffix order in DHCP

Nishanth

Hi,

I have a DNS Server hosting multiple domains. I have a
DHCP Server to serve the clients.

How do I update DNS Suffix search order in DHCP server so
that all the clients update the same. This is because if a
client tries to PING with just a hostname, it should
search DNS with suffixing firstdomain, seconddomain and so
on....

I can do it by adding it on each workstations, but can I
achieve the same using DHCP...?

Please help asap,

Regards,
Nishanth

Hello,

unfortunately DHCP isn't able to accomodate adding multiple search
domains. This article may help though:

Hi,

You cannot do this using DHCP, but you cna use a group policy to push out
the DNS suffix search order.

Thanks,
