Setting default font for email

W

I can't seem to get Windows Mail to accept my setting of a preferred font for
the default. I am setting Ariel, but when a go to enter text in an email it
uses the first font on the font list.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Wayne

Font for what?
Reading email, composing email, or actual sent email?
The latter is only affected by using HTML rather than plain text.

Composing email.

You should be able to choose the compose font under Tools, Options,
Compose, Font Setting.

If you have installed the IE8 beta, it will disable font settings.

I have it set as you indicated. It is set to Ariel, but still when I compose
an email is uses Academy Engraved LET. I am using IE7, not the IE8 berta.

I have no idea why that would happen. Perhaps some of your fonts are
corrupted or unavailable, and the system is substituting a different font

My preferred font in outgoing mail , comic sans serif, is occasionally
changed to mimic the e-mail to which I am replying! Frustrating, and when I
re-set it it reverts as soon as I start typing! Just another quirck in
Windows Mail

Go to Tools, Options, Send, uncheck "Reply to messages using the
format in which they were sent."
