Setting a Default Contacts Folder

I upgraded to Outlook 2003 when I got a new computer and I am now able to use
Microsoft Exchange Server (in cached mode) rather than an IMAP account which
I had before. So I am just getting used to using files on the server rather
than my laptop. My Problem is getting my existing contacts folder which was
on my hard drive to the Contacts Folder that appears on the exchange server.
I tried copying and dragging the old folder to the new Contact but it creates
a sub directory and leaves the primary folder empty. This would not be a
problem but when I want to create a contact from an email address ( a neat
new feature by the way!) it sets up the contact in the primary folder, not in
the folder with all my other addresses so I have to then drag it into the sub
directory. Is there a way to either
1) put my old contacts folder in the main or root Contacts folder without
creating a sub folder or
2) change the default so that the only contacts folder I am using is the
sub-directory.

Thanks

With IMAP accounts, the messages are on the server as well, just like for
Exchange.

Sure. Open your old contacts folder, press CTRL-A to select them all, click
Edit>Copy to Folder and specify your mailbox Contacts folder as the
destination.
or 2) change the default so that the only
contacts folder I am using is the sub-directory.

No way to do this.

Thanks Brian - I thought I had tried this but I realized I used the right
click menu option Copy Folder - that is why I kept getting sub folders. Copy
and paste worked much better.
