Session Directory service on ALL servers?

P

Patrick Saunders

Greetings all,
I am studying for my mcse 70-290 exam and have a query about
configuring
a Terminal services cluster. This is for 2003 though I don't think the
concept would differ from 2000.

Question is:

Does each server in a Terminal Services NLB cluster have to run the
service 'Terminal Services Session Directory' or only the server that
acts as the Session Directory server?

I know it sounds like stupid question but i'm having trouble getting
my head around all components of T.S NLB.

Many thanks,

Patrick.

Only the Session Directory Server must run the 'Terminal Services
Session Directory' service.
All Terminal Servers must be configured to join Session Directory.
This can be done in TS Configuration or through a GPO.
Note that all Terminal Servers must be running at least Windows
2003 Enterprise Edition.
