Servor error: frontpg.lck

My site is developed in FP2003 and hosted by 1&1 Internet (whose tech
support, BTW, is beyond awful.) Suddenly, I am not able to open my site in
FP. This is the error I receive:

"Server error: the server extensions were unable to access the file
'frontpg.lck'. Please check the file permissions. Contact your Internet
service provider or Web server administrator for more information."

The references in this group to this file seem to have to do with a problem
people have had after opening a site in FP, a point to which I cannot get.

Sure could use some help! Thanks in advance.

You will need to recalculate the Frontpage server extensions. Some
control panels offer this. Don't remove them, just check / recalculate
them.

If they do not, you will need to contact them and ask them to do it for
you, sending them that error message.

Thank you, Corey. I'll see if this is an option they offer. I appreciate
the help. I may be back, as I don't have a really good experience with their
tech "support." :)

Ask your web host to delete the .lck file.

Thanks, Thomas. If I ever get through without an hour wait, I will do just
that. I appreciate your help!

Thomas:

I discovered on the 1&1 control panel that there's a "Web Files" application
that allows me to manipulate files on thesite. (For some reason, they
disable FTP access when FrontPage extensions are enabled and this appears to
be the substitute for FTP.) I'm trying to delete the .lck myself since I
still haven't gotten through to the 1&1 tech support but I can't find it file
anywhere. Do you have any idea where it might be located? Is it
possibe/likely that it's in a folder that I can't access?

Your host will probably have to do it:
