Service Pack

How do I load a service pack to a CD so it can be reloaded
after installing new software. On NT4, we always reloaded
the service pack from CD using a folder which executed a
load wizard. I do not want to download from MS each time
and although there is a service pack folder, I prefer not
to just overwrite the files from a CD made from the SP
folder.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but if you're wanting to
reapply the service pack after software installation, this is not necessary
in Windows 2000 like it was in NT4.

If you just want to place the service pack on a CD, you need to network
installation rather than the express installation of the service pack. This
is available from Microsoft downloads.

You are correct in assumption of reapply service pack
after software installation. We assume software can
overwrite service pack files and they would have to be
returned to original values. Are service pack files
protected from overwrite?

Yes, they are. If they get overwritten, Windows should put the correct
version back.
