Service Pack Problems

Below is an analysis of my hardware and software,
including all windows updates up to current, I have been
getting the "windows explorer has generated errors and
needs to close" and the error reporting box appears, this
happens about every half an hour, and when explorer
restars i have to reboot because it closes most of the
programs in the system tray, like my virus scanner,
firewall, and pop-up blocker, this started when Windows
Update downloaded service pack 2 and all the "Hot Fixes"
does anybody know how i can fix this, or at least stop it
from happening?

windows updates would NOT down load service pak 2, its
still a beta and not ready for general release. i don't
know what you have but it didn't come from ms.

Below is an analysis of my hardware and software,
including all windows updates up to current, I have been
getting the "windows explorer has generated errors and
needs to close" and the error reporting box appears, this
happens about every half an hour, and when explorer
restars i have to reboot because it closes most of the
programs in the system tray, like my virus scanner,
firewall, and pop-up blocker, this started when Windows
Update downloaded service pack 2 and all the "Hot Fixes"
does anybody know how i can fix this, or at least stop it
from happening?

Many thanks for the suggestions, I ran all the programs
as soon as i read your post but I still get the problems,
I did have Spybot installed before, which kept my system
clean, and also 3 differnt virus checkers, (BitDefender
Pro, BullGuard, and the Online Virus Scanner) gave my
system a clean bill of health. In the Add/Remove
Programs applet it says that a lot of the updates I have
are for Service Pack 2 which I've been told is still in
the beta stage, but my system analysis provided by Belarc
says I have service pack 2, could this be a very clever
virus that hides as service pack 2?

Below is an analysis of my hardware and software,
including all windows updates up to current, I have been
getting the "windows explorer has generated errors and
needs to close" and the error reporting box appears, this
happens about every half an hour, and when explorer
restars i have to reboot because it closes most of the
programs in the system tray, like my virus scanner,
firewall, and pop-up blocker, this started when Windows
Update downloaded service pack 2 and all the "Hot Fixes"
does anybody know how i can fix this, or at least stop it
from happening?

Hi,

Many of the updates are called SP2, but having the SP2 Service Pack is a
different story. To verify Belarc's findings, right click My
Computer/Properties. If SP2 is installed it will be listed directly under
your version of Windows.

Below is an analysis of my hardware and software,
including all windows updates up to current, I have been
getting the "windows explorer has generated errors and
needs to close" and the error reporting box appears, this
happens about every half an hour, and when explorer
restars i have to reboot because it closes most of the
programs in the system tray, like my virus scanner,
firewall, and pop-up blocker, this started when Windows
Update downloaded service pack 2 and all the "Hot Fixes"
does anybody know how i can fix this, or at least stop it
from happening?
