Service Pack 4 install

After I installed service pack 4 my entire computer slowed
down especially my broadband internet connection. I found
it so annoying that I have uninstalled service pack 4.
Anyone with information about this problem?

I havent seen issues such as this unless there was something like antivirus
running during the installation of the SP and it couldnt copy all files
properly. I assume that everything works ok without the SP installed, so I
would disable all thirdparty applications and AV and reinstall it.
