Service Pack 2 effecting my web browsers

I recently upgraded to service pack 2 on my windows xp home edition. Upon
doing that I have been unable to open the internet on various web browsers
including IE and Firefox. Additionally I haven't been able to connect to
online video games. However, I am able to connect to AOL instant messenger,
so I apparently do have some internet capabilities. I was hoping that
someone with more knowledge than I do would be able to suggest some manner in
which to fix this problem. Thanks.

There is an internet explorer newsgroup which is the best place to post IE
questions. Make sure you specify what version of IE, 6 or 7, and how you're
accessing the internet, i.e. dial up, DSL, cable, etc. Be specific on what
sites you can't access.
