Service Pack 1 notice

I'm on the learning curve, providing computer support for people in my area.
One of my clients has XP Service Pack 1 embedded on her Dell Laptop. A few
months ago, we did tons of updating with about 50 Microsoft patches. I had
followed links presuming this brought it up to SP 2 protection/function
level.

However, every time she turns on the computer, she still gets pop-up notices
that SP 1 support ends Oct. 10. Is this a normal function or is the computer
not considered SP 2?

You can check to see which SP is installed by running

winver

from Start>Run.

Simple: Start > Right-click My Computer and click Properties. Opening
Window shows which version is installed.

Download Service Pack 2 from this link and save it into the Briefcase.
Once saved, open the Briefcase and click on the Download.
