Hi!

I have Windows 2000 AD with 3 DCs. I have demoted one DC and still I see it
on the AD Sites and Services under Sites > Default-First-Site-Name>Servers.
Is it safe to delete the server?

Hi

Yes this is the default behavior, just make sure that the server doesn't
contain any objects under.

Hi,

As long as this DC was demoted successfully, you can just go ahead and
delete it from AD sites and services.
Using the following link, verify that this Domain Controller is not
still residing in the metadata

http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/Library/012793ee-5e8c-4a5c-9f66-4a486a7114fd1033.mspx

If this machine has been removed with the above link, and validating
via ADSIedit that this DC was removed, yes you can simply delete this
object from sites and services

Hope this helps
