\\server is not accessible. You might not have permission..

I jsut recently started to get this error- There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it...If the user has a mapped drive, they are still able to connect.. If they try to access the shared drive any other way, they receive this error.

Where should i check the share? on the server? Nothing has changed other than adding some new users to the server, but they have unique names.

the share permissions are on the folder you are sharing. go to the server itself, (don't do remotely) right click the actual folder and select Sharing. you'll see the share permissions.

John's News 2

what are the best recommendations for the "Everyone", I did/removed
Everyone access, "in the past" and had the access for all computers lock
up/out. So Everyone seems to be required. I would like to think that
"Everyone" and "Guest" could not see my shares, un less they signed on with
a/the pass word. All my other local computers (by name) are granted full
access, with passwords. Only one has to logon, the others just come on
like they have permission.
My first thought/guess I have allowed access (double access) somewhere that
is bypassing the sign-on ?
thanks for any comment.
