Server error when trying to load web site

M

Mark Tezel

I have a new problem. When I try to load my website from
my remote server I get an error message "Server error:
Error 2 opening regsitry key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\Web Server Extensions\Ports\Port 80."

This just started yesterday. Before that I was able to
access my site with no problems. Can anyone tell me what
this means and how to fix it?

Thanks,
Mark

You need to contact your host and send them the error message.

Have you changed a firewall or ICF setting
or installed an instant messaging program
such as Yahoo IM.
If so, make sure FrontPage has port 80
access in your firewall, and make sure Yahoo IM
is shut down. Yahoo claims port 80 for it's P2P
file sharing feature.
