LONG STORY >> 3 year old XP athlon
system with IBM 42 gig primary, and WD
160gig secondary drives.. 3 weeks ago
CPU fan STOPPED, CPU FRIED, MB also
cooked, replaced MB with KT4AV and CPU
w/Athlon XP2400+. All was fine for a
few days, the Primary HD started
clicking and screen was flashing, had to
shut down, on reboot, No Primary Drive
was found in BIOS... Disconnected both
HD's, Picked up 3gig HD, formatted it,
installed XP, booted, got all basics
working, shut down, reconnected WD,
booted up, but the drive can not be seen
in file manager. Went to look for it in
disk manager and it is there but, it is
not accessible, I mean It appears to be
a dynamic disk, says DISK1 DYNAMIC
FOREIGN, and had a Triangle with the
Exclamation point in it... When I
right click on the disk in disk manager
I get 2 options "Import foreign
disks..." and "Convert to Basic Disk"
Can some one tell me how to access this
disk with out wiping out over 110 gigs
of very important data.... ON A SIDE
NOTE>> best/cheapest/fastest way to
backup that much data.. THANK YOU
.......
