serial mouse detection

Has anyone successfully eliminated the serial mouse detection by using the
/fastdetect switch in boot.ini?
I am running GPS data into a system running xpe and it keeps asking for
sermouse.sys in spite of my best efforts to kill it.
Windows documentation says specifically that the /fastdetect switch should
work for this but it seems to have no effect at all for me.

Search the XPe newsgroup for SkipEnumerations.

I think this is what your after.
