Sent mail won't save in the correct "Sent" folder

Whenever I send an email in Windows Mail (Vista) it only saves the message in
the local "Sent Items" folder but it doesn't actually sync it with the "Sent"
folder associated with my account, which means if I am using internet based
webmail, or a different client, I cannot see the mail I have sent using
Windows Mail.

How do I fix this?

Unless you can access the email account in Windows Mail via IMAP (instead of
via POP3), the behavior you want is not possible.

Thanks for your reply. I do access via IMAP only. How do I configure windows
mail to save it in the right sent folder?

The local Sent Items folder should sync with the IMAP Sent Items folder
automatically.

Is it an AOL account?

No it's my own email account with my personal domain. It doesn't seem to be
syncing automatically, can I manually do it somehow?

Has this IMAP account ever worked the way you want it to work in Windows
Mail?
