"Sent" folder not working

D

duxoup

Suddenly any emails I send are no longer registered in the "sent" folder.
This began 6/15.
I'd just like to be able to see that my messages have been sent.
Hopeful for a solution. Thanks

Take a look at this :
Tools > Options > Send. Is the box in front of " Save a copy of sent
messages in the 'Sent Items ' folder " checked ?
If it is not, check it.

I do not save "sent messages" and I checked and have Show all Messages, I
have never had a sent message saved
What else could it be?

My problem is that some of my emails show up in the sent folder but not all
of them. Why is this? Anyone have this same problem?

Do you mean the Sent Items folder? If so, make sure no messages are
remaining in the Outbox folder. If that checks out, which antivirus are you
running? Some of them cause problems with Windows Mail over time.

Yes, Sent Items folder. No nothing is sitting in the Outbox. Save copy of
sent messages is checked and Views are not hidden. If I check "find message"
under Edit in Windows Mail it will find the sent message but it doesn't show
in the Sent Items folder. This only happens with some of my emails, not all.
I run Norton Security Suite 2009.

Norton security products are among the top three troublemakers for
Windows Mail. Symptoms often don't surface until several months have
gone by, or until an update occurs.
First, be sure to disable its email scanning, for the reason explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Disabling the Norton program is often insufficient. Do a trial uninstall,
followed by using their debris removal tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://download.live.com/wlmail

Hi, I also can't see my sent items. 5 months ago it was still working
(although the year was set on 2010; how can I change this because my computer
settings are set on the correct date), but now I can't see sent messages in
the sent Items box and Box out anymore. I have set my settings for sending
email and viewing correctly

I have even a more simple solution for you. I have the same problem but simply had to do this below:

In options menu click on " View "

Then scroll to " Sort By "

Then scroll to " Received "

That is all it took for me to get it to work right. There was a phishing or an email that I clicked on to unblock because it came from a trusted source and I never sent my private info to anyone. What it did was re-arrange how I wanted the sent emails to post.

I had to figure this out on my own and no help from Microsoft so you probably wont see this one in their help menu....

I hope this helps if not I am out of ideas for you....

If an email message did do that, then you are likely to have much more
serious problems. If the email message was able to do that, then email
messages could do anything to your system, including getting any private
information that is stored in it. If you have financial data such as bank
account information then you must assume it is not safe.

The good news is that if you are using a good antivirus program, you are
probably safe. It is likely that the problem is simply that you did
something without realizing that it did what it did. Before concluding that
Microsoft is to blame, spend some time learning more. Listen to the advice
of experts. If you don't have a good antivirus program, then you are a fool
for blaming others.
