sent email items suddenly fail to appear in sent items folder

unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, sunriserwillie asked:

Tools > Options > Preferences > Email Options

Make sure the box is checked that says to save copies of messages in Sent
Items folder.
