Sending and receiving twice per provider

Michel Gervais

Hi,
When I launch sending/receiving on my two accounts I can see in dialog box :
[P1] Sending
[P1] Receiving
[P2] Sending
[P2] Receiving
and a few seconds later 4 other lines again added up :
[P1] Sending
[P1] Receiving
[P2] Sending
[P2] Receiving

Is it relevant to my configuration or the line ?
Thank you.

Are you getting duplicate messages or something?

I don't receive duplicate messages but it seems number of messages
mentionned to download is twice the number I obtain in my e mail box.

Sometimes (second and next sync) accounts appear only once.

How often do you have Outlook polling the accounts normally?

OK, but what polling interval are you using for the accounts?

I use Office Professionnal 2003. When I used to open Outlook, I ask for
"send and receive" (which was not done at opening) and then obtained theses
multiple threads.
After that, I let system retreive messages. I didn't change any default
value. Only when a problem occured with my provider could I see dialog box
again.

Now I tried again as I write these lines and Outlook get messages as soon as
I open it. I dont't see the dialog box while message are received. If I try
manually (second receiving) dialog box appears with correct number of
threads (4).

As I update with Microsoft update all my softwares, maybe something has been
corrected or modified.

Similarly when I used to open word documents on Word 97 on another PC a
message said "this document is still used by <myself> do you what to make a
copy" despite I just opened it on my stand alone PC. This doesn't happen
anymore. My two PC are always connected to Internet on same cable modem line
via a cable/wifi router (DLink 614+).

Thank you anyway for your help.
