Sending all Contacts in a Folder

Brad Swindell

I have a user who needs to move all of his Contacts to another
computer. He has access to the Internet, but not to our Exchange
server (for contacts at least). The Contacts are based on a
customized form, so standard export/import cannot be done.

Is there any way to move an Outlook folder via EMail?

Could the whole .ost file be sent, and if so wouldn't that create
problems on the receiving computer which would already have another
..ost file?

Thanks, Brad.

Create a new PST file. Add a contacts folder to it. Move or copy all the items into that folder. Close it. Close Outlook. Restart Outlook. You should now be able to attach the .pst file to an email message and send it to the person, who will then reverse the sequence -- moving or copying all the items into an Outlook folder on his computer.

Thanks for the reply, Sue. Swapping around OST and PST files may be a
bit much for the situation, especially since the user is remote and
there are other Outlook folders at issue. Good to know there is a
solution if we can't work through any other, though. Thanks, Brad.
