Send slides to Word in Black & White

In Office 2002, when you send a color presentation to
Word, and the presentation is in Black and White or
Grayscale view, the slide images in Word appear in color.

In earlier versions of PowerPoint, slides sent to Word in
Grayscale view appear in black and white.

Knowledge Base article 293570 recognises this problem but
only offers a solution based on changing from a coloured
scheme to a grey scale scheme. This has no effect on
drawn objects or manually coloured items. Has anyone any
suggestions for how to get coloured slides into Word in
black and white?
