send/recieve progress window stays open

hi there, all of a sudden my outlook 2003 office version does not close the
send/recieve progress window even though the send shows complete and the
recieve shows complete. the window stays open and cancel button does nothing
i have to close with the close window x. like a mini lockup. t hanks in
advance.

Do you have the little push pin pushed in the bottom right corner of the
send/receive window? That will keep it open until you hit the X.

no, it used to display until finished and now it opens and stays open.
