Send/Receive - The Operation Failed

i have reinstalled Office XP after having used Office 2003 trial version and
now although all my files and folders are in place the send/receive button no
longer works, nor does F9 or the drop down menu. I get the pop up saying The
Operation Failed. Reinstalling does not fix the problem. Does anyone know
how i can fix it?

Try deleting your mail profile in Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles and
creating a new one from scratch.

Thank you. I deleted the profile, restarted the machine and created a new
profile and imported the old data file and all is back to normal.

Paul.
