send/receive problem

I just got a new Toshiba laptop and MS office. I am able
to hook up to the internet (isp works), was able to get
outlook express to work (get and send emails) but cannot
get outlook to work. the message at the send/receive
is 'object missing'. I have updated XP, office &
reinstalled office a couple times. Turned off Norton,
firewalls, removed the Earthlink Total Access (excess)
program - anything I could think of that might conflict.
Anyone have any ideas?

I had used this office suite CD on my desktop at home and
it set up perfectly, transitioning OLexpress to outlook.

When send/receive is hit (or automatically goes to check
mail) a box says: The opertion failed. An object could
not be found.

there is no explanation or description of what the object
might be.
