Send default not working

Steve

I have two pop3 email accounts coming into outlook (a & b). a is the default.
when i reply to an email from b, outlook uses b as the send. I can change it
manually on the account button, but i need it to be the default
automatically.

I have even changed the outbox on "b" to the the outbox for my my default
(a). It still sends using b out box which is not even in the mailbox set-up
anymore.

Any suggestions?

Outlook will ALWAYS automatically reply from the account to which the email
was sent. There is no way to change this behaviour AFAIK. Why should it do
otherwise?

In Outlook 2003, if you have more then one account, when you say new message,
there is an account button that allows you to select which account you want
to use. I use this feature, as I have a generic account for normal email, but
I created another account to use when dealing with business matters. Does
Outlook 2007 not have this feature?

I am trying to move an old email (b) to a new email address (a). So even
though people sent an email to (b) I want the reply to come form the new
email (a).

When you reply the account it was received on is used to send from, even if
not the default account, you have to manually change the send account

I am also using 2003. I can do what you describe, but and if it was just me,
I could handle it this way. but I have 10-20 users that will not remember to
change the account when replying...so I wanted it to default to the new email
to reply.

Thanks

As you stated - you can only do this MANUALLY.

AFAIK you can't.

Ask has been said already, you cannot, but since you say you'r changing
addresses, why not set a redirect or forward rule on your old mail server to
is sends all the messages it receives to the new address? Then you'll
receive all your mail via a single address and when you reply there'll be
only one account to deal with.
