send an .mdb file as an attachment

My daughter has new computer with full version of Office 203. She is doing
continuing education and learning Access. She has modified a database as part
of training and must email it back to instructor. Her email is blocking
sending the file. Odd that she was able to receive the file. I have no
problems sending an .MDB file as an attachment, but she can not do this. What
or how can I fix her system so this works? She is using MSN as email client.
I actually use Outlook, so maybe that is why I can send. Any help?

Hi.

Outlook 2003 automatically blocks attachments of certain file types that
could contain malicious executable code, and MDB is on the list. I don't
know what MSN's restrictions are.

Your daughter can probably compress the *.MDB file into a *.ZIP file with a
compression utility and send that *.ZIP file as an attachment. Windows XP
has a built-in ZIP utility, but if she needs a compression utility on her
new computer, she can download a copy of WinZip from here:

Has she tried removing or renaming the extension? If her database is
"Schoolwork.mdb" then change the .mdb to .m_b or remove it altoghter
and it should go. The recipient then just renames the file back to
schoolwork.mdb and has the file. It's a thought.

Yes, that's what I do. I rename stats.mdb to stats.txt and then tell the
instructor to rename on their end back to stats.mdb
