selection locked

I have the same issue as someone else. When I try to type in Word, it says
the selection is locked. When I go to the protection tab, I can't do
anything, so that won't work. Help!!!

I have the same problem. I couldn't find any help in vista general. maybe a
link or a tip would be helpful....
