No, you aren't wasting keystrokes when you send feedback to Microsoft
using the "Was this information helpful" commands at the bottom of the
page.
They utilize this information to create and update Help content.
Feedback and ratings is an area they have put a lot of effort into
developing in the last few years and they've already updated a lot of
Help content as a result of user feedback.
I submitted feedback on the "Keep track of formatting" option on the
following topic so if you haven't already sent feedback, sending it
for the same topic will help make it visible and increase the chances
of getting it modified:

Note only Office 2003 users will be able to utilize the above link.
Also if you have Office 2003 feel free to your feedback for the need
to have the Tools | Options | Edit "Keep track of formatting option"
turned on in order to utilize the "Select all text with the same
formatting" command too.
