Seeking calendar-appointment-reminder program

Looking for a calendar/appointment/reminder program that's better than
Outlook XP/03 and Mozilla Calendar. (Mozilla Calendar still has bugs, and I
don't like Outlook.) What are some of the most comprehensive but least
expensive?

- It can be freeware or shareware.
- It should be a stand-alone app that integrates with Internet
Explorer, Firefox, and/or Thunderbird.
- It does NOT need to be an mail/news client. I already have apps for
mail/news.
- It does NOT need to have an address book or contact list. I have other
apps for that.
- Prefer it be compatible with 98 and higher, but 2000/XP and higher is okay
too.

I posted this same request in alt.comp.shareware but no response. Hoping for
better luck here. Naturally, freeware is preferred.

Time and Chaos has, on its legacy products page, a freeware download of its
product. Does just what you want, and it's very capable.

I'm no sure what your requirement "integrates with Internet Explorer,
Firefox, and/or Thunderbird" means, but you can look at the free
version of Essential PIM (Epim) at:

I can live without the integration in IE, FF, TB. Keep the calendar
suggestions coming.

Personally I thought it was an obvious pun.

When someone asks this I usually point them towards Palm Desktop, which
is a pretty good tool. However, you do not need/want many of its
features so I doubt it will be what you want. I find it to be a good
PIM, with only a few complaints. I would like to see a simple
intergrated e-mail client.

Good Grief ! What's with all the insults, and false help. Fer cryin'
out loud .. give an answer Sea Maiden wanted.

IMHO, the be-all end-all of handy, pop-up-with-boot-up appointment
calendars, is:

Enjoy!

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FREEWARE SOLUTION
So I know it's off-topic, but he said it could be shareware.

I'd recommend you take a look at Agendus Pro
http://www.iambic.com/products/default.asp?windows
You can use it to make Outlook work the way you want it to work and / or
look like you want it to look. It gives a great degree of added
functionality. They have a free trial, so you lose nothing by looking.
