Similarly, does anyone know of a chart which shows for the last few years

It's still there at tomshardware.com. You can pick charts from
2004 to 2009 with a choice of benchmarks for a wide range of
applications from synthetic, games, video encoding, etc etc. -

For benchmarks, Google still works; however, it is likely that only a
few CPUs are tested in each benchmark and that the hardware platform is
different between different benchmarks so you'll only see small windows
of charts for a few of them at a time.
