Security update Q811493 crashes windows after installing

I have repeatedly installed update Q811493, but every
time I do windows crashes, tries to reboot, and makes an
awful screaching sound coming from my audio (speakers).
Every time I have installed it (3 times)I end up loading
in safe mode and uninstalling Q811493. Windows generated
an error report, and it stated that I had a driver issue.
So, the only unsigned drive I have installed is my video
driver. I tried rolling back the driver to the one XP
orginally installed thinking that might be the problem.
But still the same result. Since this fix will be
included in service pack 2 for XP when released, I hope
to get this resolved. Any suggestions???

This is the update that public statements said caused
"slowdowns" on some computers. On mine, the slowdown was
actually a hard lockup. Even leaving the computer for
hours never restored the ability to even move the mouse,
Alt tab, or shutdown properly. I had to hard reset the
laptop (HP ZE1250 with Athlon).

I have not seen any statements that show the previous
issues with this update have been resolved.
