software programs and worm removal software is currently quite popular
-- and not all security firms have .......

I can guarantee that if you never use a computer, then you will never
directly experience computer problems.

ravi,

I am no fan of Symantec, but FWIW:

1) Do you use NAV? If not, check with _your_ AV vendor and see what
they have to say on the subject.

2) Before INSTALLING any AV product, particularly a Symantec product,
make sure that you have all of the information/tools/utilities that
you might need to UNINSTALL the product should the desire/need arise.

Ron :)

No more than you were before reading the article. :))

More software (measured in lines of code) is not the answer to fighting
software vulnerability exploits.

Are these articles online? It kind of sounds like hype to me - even
though based in fact.

Some yes, and some no - but you almost always increase potential risk
when adding software.
should i use their tools ? please help me.

Specific tools are known to be risky or even malware themselves, you
could post names of specific tools and get feedback from the regular
posters.
