Security problem after deleting history

Donna

I have my "history" set to 0 days to be stored in
history. I've clicked on tools, internet options and
deleted history for the day. Most of the time the history
does not delete. I then click on the history icon and a
pane opens to the left of screen with all websites, email
accounts, bank accounts etc I've visited. Anyone can
click on these websites and actually view my emails that
i've written, opened, any bank account statements or
payments i've sent via online, etc. It literally keeps
each page i visit in the history file. Anything
confidential isn't anymore. Spent many hours online with
customer support and they can't seem to figure out why my
history doesn't delete. Any ideas?

You can set the History setting as low as 0 Days, but even then, the last days entries are stored, until the next day. For things like your bank account web site and other secure information, don't tell IE to save passwords, this in itself is a Security breach that you can control. Additional setting: Control Panel, Internet Options, Advanced. Scroll down to Empty Temporary Internet Files when browser is closed. When you close the last IE window, the TIF will be cleared.
