Security on network

Matrix

I have 2 PC connected with a network cable.
One of the PCs (PC1) is connected directly to the internet
and the other (PC2) connected to the internet through the
network and the PC1.
I have a Firewall installed on PC1.

Do I need to install firewall on PC2 too?
Or the firewall that installed on PC1 can protect both PCs
on the network?

you should not install ICS on LAN connection, so you should not install ICS
on the 2nd pc.

It really depends on your paranoia level. Personally, I think your Ok not running a firewall on PC2.
Note that if you do run a firewall, including ICF, then File & Print Sharing between the two PCs
will be effected...

Hi.

You did not indicate how your NAT for internet sharing are done.

However if it is done the correct way it means that each computer does its
own Independent connection to the Internet (even if PC2 goes through PC1),
and thus each one needs its own protection. I.e. Firewall on each computer.

Even if you use a Router each computer needs its own Firewall Basic
protection: http://www.ezlan.net/firewall.html

Only if you use Central Server(like Windows2003) with central Firewall (Like
ISA) the client computers can be firewall free.
