I have amessage saying that it can't lock file . When I press the help button I have the following message

Could not lock file. (Error 3050
The operating system will not allow Microsoft® Jet to create a lock file (.LDB) in the same directory where the database file (.MDB) resides
You need to have write privileges to the directory that contains the database you are trying to open.
This error can also occur if you are trying to use the passive shut down/connection control feature while the database is opened exclusively

Any ideas? and by the way I am the administrator of the database!

Check whether you have Create / Read / Write / Delete permission on the
directory where the database resides.

You need all of the above since you need to be able to create the LDB file.
