Security center turning off.

Each time I log off my PC the secuity center turns off. When I log on again
the security center is unavailable as it has been stopped. I can restart it
via
Admimistrative tools but it stops again when I log off. When I run a scan
with Spybot I get a message saying "Microsoft security center turned off"
& "hkey_local_machine\system\current control set\services\wscsvc\start = w =
2" I do not know what all that means.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Dave.

Do you have third-party security software such as Norton or McAfee?
These programs have their own Security Center which disable the XP SP2
one. What antivirus are you running?

We need more information about your computer and the history of the
problem in order to give you focused help.

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:
