Securing only one database

I've setup user security for a database and it appears
that I've somehow applied this to Access as a whole. When
I open other databases, I'm prompted for my login
information. How can I clear the security for Access in
general and apply it only to the database hat I intended?
Thanks!

You don't mention version, but you are joined by default to the workgroup
you used to secure your database.

Use the workgroup administrator to rejoin the standard system.mdw workgroup
file.

You can create a desktop shortcut to start your secure database. Its target
would look like
"path to msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure mdw"
