Secrets on a computer

B

Bear

I accept entitlement to secrets. The problem is, secrets have a way of
getting out...especially through such a medium as this. My point is that
computers are not safe. The Internet is not safe. Secrets need to be in a
safe place.

It's a real problem when there are just too many secrets, after all
there's only so much space for storing them.

How does this relate to either of the groups you posted to?

The old Hell's Angel's saying:

"Three people can keep a secret, if two of them are dead."

Oh, you must be referring to my forger.
Perhaps, but that is irrelevant.

I was referring to the original post in this thread. My question was for
whichever "Bear" made that statement. Then you (NNTP posting host in the
clear, not something a forger is likely to do) said "don't ask me, ask
the OP" - which is *exactly* what I *was* doing.

In this subthread, you wrote to Dustin "I just replied to the
OP...jesus...why did you?" when he asked about the crossposted off topic
post. That post was *not* a reply to a post if the "References:" header
is to be believed (not they they are always to be believed) so it sure
looks like you did not "reply" (there is no "Re:" in the subject field,
and no "References:" field in the header.

Like asking if anyone knew of online work for a buddy and getting,
what...what would you call it, back. You guys are swell.

Jolly good!

Wot, newsgroups?

Too right. Mine is like a minefield - packed full of malware just
waiting to be run.

That's why I don't keep them on the computer.

I will ignore the insinuation that I'm bitching. I'm very
concerned about the use of the right term. No attempt to gleen the
best is being done in no manner that can be honestly argued or
qualified.

I have every right to point this out on a perfect example. I am
not ridiculing you or anyone else as you are doing to me.

I just replied to the OP...jesus...why did you?

Curious as to why you felt the need to post completely offtopic crap here.
I frequent the group and have for years; Figured I had every right to know
why you're trolling it.

Dustin, your inexperience is showing. I'm not the OP.

Bear,

Don't bother with the stupid inexperience crap. It's nonsense. You've
tried that bullshit before to defer my pointed question. I don't care
who is the OP, you chose to respond without snipping alt.comp.anti-
virus; so that aspect lies with you.

Again, I didn't see the OP, I did see your nonsense reply.

Secrets, as far as computers are concerned, can be stored in a TPM. They
have nothing to do with the more general 'secrets' people whisper about
behind their hands.

Careful! One wrong click... [g]
So you have no privacy issues...that's great Dustin. Why use
encryption...PGP, what is your address and phone number? SSN? Banking?
What are your passwords?

Too bad. Net cop someone else. You are wasting your time with me. I have
no respect for you.
