secpol.msc help needed

I am trying the change the security settings in Vista and when I type:
secpol.msc

At the command line I get: MMC could not create the snap-in.



When I try to do it manually, I get the message below.



Can someone help?

Hi em_Ct,

What version of Vista are you using? The Vista Home Basic and Home
Premium version do not have the secpol.msc.

I found a work around, I just want to increase my access and I found it

Thanks for the lead, I did run run sfc/ scannow and it did find corrupt
files and it did repair them. I did find the log files, but I could not open
them.
It did not however fix my original problem, but it does not matter.
