Check Devices in My computer, to see if it shows , as rule it does.
I just fitted another drive myself ,also shows up in disk management
before you can use it , go to the Bios, I think comes under Boot order

As it say's on the tin! F1 to continue F2 for setup

F2 will take you to the BIOS , where you will enable the drive

pressing the f2 key means
that your mother board wants
you to access it because of
a problem not recognizing
the hardware connected
to it.

in the matter of secondary
drive 0 this is what you
should know.

all motherboards have the
capability of having two
hard drives installed,

one master drive and
one slave drive.

the message you are
getting is that the slave
drive is drive 0 and this
is "illogical" as mr spock
would say.

the master drive should
be the drive 0

and the slave/secondary
drive should be the
drive 1.

not to get you confused.
but some computers can
boot from the secondary
drive or usb drive or from
the network.

review you computer manual
or the homesite to learn more
about your bios.

typically once inside the bios
via that f2 key, you can press
a key to automatically
configure then save the settings.

lastly, before you exit the bios
double check your settings
to the disk to ensure you
are booting from the master
disk and it is set as drive 0.
your.

If accurate statement, no typos, would suggest the primary ide interface is
disabled in the bios. Therefore, the bios is checking the secondary ide
interface for the first hard drive (0), and can't find it.

Try opening the PC case and reseating both the power cable and data cable on
that hard drive for starters.
